U.S. Corporation and Environmental
Chemical Contamination
Environmental testing discovered chemical contamination flowing from the manufacturing operations of a global U. S. Corporation. Officials and residents of the adjacent city and towns were understandably alarmed, and the highly-visible situation was beginning to polarize with lawsuits and media publicity.
The corporation asked Ms. Gray to assess the situation, and to assist their multi-disciplinary and multi-functional team in understanding the communication and decision-making dynamics that would be involved, and to help them build constructive negotiating bridges with the city, towns, U. S. and state agencies, and the citizens’ groups involved. After a diagnostic assessment, Liz facilitated several working sessions—some including city and town officials—that enabled the situation to be handled constructively, and, in addition, enabled the corporation and its neighbors to move forward on several related construction and environmental programs.
